Once again, Denominación de Origen Almansa has been present at the Prowein fair in Düsseldorf (Germany), one of the most important events in the international wine sector. Our wines were once again presented to importers, professionals and the public from more than 120 different countries.
In this new edition of Prowein, which took place on 15, 16 and 17 March in the German city of Düsseldorf, our DO Almansa once again shared a stand with other designations of origin from all over Castilla-La Mancha, in a space provided by the IPEX – Institute for the Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha.
The value of our wines, our production area, and the particularities of the wines made with varieties such as our Garnacha Tintorera or Monastrell have been the main attractions for importers and professionals from the sector who were interested in our DO Almansa during the three days of the fair. In addition, and as usual in previous editions of Prowein, we have carried out thematic tastings of our DO Almansa for the attendees.
For their part, wineries that are part of DO Almansa were also present at Prowein, as always the perfect complement to the work of promoting the wines of our land. All in all, Prowein never disappoints, and having already exceeded 30 editions, it has been able to bring together some 42,000 visitors from up to 128 different countries, as well as hosting 4,200 different exhibitors from 65 countries.
Tasting commented by the German sommelier Claudia Stern
One of the highlights of Prowein for DO Almansa took place on 17 March with the wine tasting commented by the German sommelier Claudia Stern, who highlighted the unique character of our region, in which the reds made with our native grape, Garnacha Tintorera, are particularly noteworthy.
A regular presence for DO Almansa that is already looking ahead to 2026
Rosana Trujillo, manager of Denominación de Origen Almansa, underlined the fact that ‘for another year we will be at this great showcase, Prowein, where DO Almansa has always had a great response from all those who have tasted and got to know our wines’. This is ‘another step forward in the promotion of our wines, and always with the aim of ensuring that the image and the wines of DO Almansa continue to grow beyond our borders. It is clear that we will continue working to be present again at Prowein 2026’.
