Denomination of Origin Almansa has been present at the Prowein fair, one of the most important in the wine sector. The fair, which took place in Dusseldorf on May 15, 16 and 17, served to promote the D.O. Almansa and to show the characteristics of our production area and its wines to importers and interested parties from all over the world.
On the other hand, a large number of wineries from our D.O. Almansa were also present at the event, which further strengthened the role and dissemination of our wines at Prowein. Specifically, the presence of D.O. Almansa at the fair took place in the Spanish Pavilion, Castilla-La Mancha stand No. 13A81, along with other Designations of Origin of the region, thus achieving a high visibility of the actions carried out and a greater awareness of the different Designations of Origin of Castilla La Mancha.
Tastings commented by leading experts
Our presence in the event had its most important point in two commented tastings that took place, with two German experts in Spanish wines who commented on them among all the attendees and interested people. In both tastings, the particularity of our wines from the Garnacha Tintorera variety was what most attracted those who attended the tastings.
The first of these was conducted by David Schwarzwälder, author of the first Spanish wine guide in Germany and also the first foreigner to obtain the Golden Nose award as the best taster – sommelier in Spain. The sommelier Yvonne Heistermann also carried out a tasting with our wines at Prowein. She teaches courses for sommeliers in Switzerland and is a member of the jury of international wine competitions such as the Pinot Noir of Switzerland, in Germany and Brussels.
Very positive balance for D.O. Almansa.
Rosana Trujillo, manager of Denomination of Origin Almansa has valued the presence at Prowein as “excellent and with a great reception and interest in the wines of our production area, and especially with the virtues of the wines with our Garnacha Tintorera”. In addition, he stressed that the presence at Prowein serves as an “international springboard for our wines” in a year like this in which our Almansa Designation of Origin “once again carries out important promotional activities outside our borders”.
