On Monday, Designation of Origin Almansa held a wine pairing dinner in Albacete where its most representative wines were presented to the authorities and the restaurants sector of the city.
During the event, which took place at La Martina restaurant in Albacete, three tapas were paired with three representative wines from the area: Garnacha Tintorera, Monastrell and Sauvignon Blanc. The event was attended by around 30 people, all of them related to the hotel and catering industry in Albacete.
Through this presentation in which the new DO Almansa advertising spot was shown, we wanted to show our support to the restaurant sector, wanting to encourage them at this time to promote moderate consumption of the wines from our production area, which by the way is the only single-province appellation in Albacete. Adolfo Cano, president of DO Almansa, underlined the importance of holding this meeting, at a time when “the unity and effort of everyone is more important than ever in order to move forward”.
Vicente Casañ, Mayor of Albacete, called it “the great battle of Almansa”, in relation to the work being done by the Designation of Origin Almansa to add value to our production area. He also stressed the link between “the eight municipalities that belong to the DO Almansa”. Casañ also highlighted the value of the Garnacha Tintorera, “not only for its height above the ground, but also for its quality”.
For his part, Santiago Caballero, President of the Albacete Provincial Council, mentioned all the people who are part of the wineries’ daily lives, thanking them for “the great effort that is being made to have this great wine in the province”. In addition, the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture of Albacete showed us again its support in this event.
After this second presentation event in Albacete, DO Almansa will end 2020 by presenting this new advertising spot in Almansa with the city’s hoteliers during the month of December, provided that the health situation allows it.
