DO Almansa brings its wines closer to the British market at London Wine Fair 2026

The Almansa Designation of Origin took part for the first time with its own stand at London Wine Fair 2026, one of the leading professional events for the drinks sector in the United Kingdom, held from 18 to 20 May at Olympia London.

Over three days, the fair brought together more than 10,000 professionals, including buyers, importers, distributors, sommeliers, hospitality representatives and specialised press, consolidating its position as a key meeting point for the promotion of wines and beverages in the British market.

London Wine Fair offers a close look at the current wine sector, with a programme focused on tastings, professional meetings and spaces dedicated to discovering new trends, wine-producing regions and different styles of wine.

The participation in this fair has allowed the wines of the Almansa Designation of Origin to continue strengthening their presence in the United Kingdom, a strategic market for the internationalisation of the designation. During these days, DO Almansa presented a wine tunnel featuring references from its 11 wineries, with the aim of showing the quality and identity of its wines to the professional public.

In addition, four wineries from the designation joined DO Almansa in person at the stand, holding different meetings and professional encounters with buyers, small specialised retailers and other professionals from the British sector. The aim of these meetings was to generate new business opportunities and to present first-hand the potential of DO Almansa wines.

Those who visited the DO Almansa space were able to discover a selection of wines with their own identity, pleasantly surprising visitors with their quality, character and personality, especially the wines made with Garnacha Tintorera. It was an opportunity to showcase to the professional public the richness of a designation with great potential in the British market.

During the fair, the Monastrell España Seminar also took place. As in the previous edition, it was led by Sarah Jane Evans, renowned Master of Wine, journalist and wine writer. On this occasion, DO Almansa had the honour of representing the Monastrell España association in a tasting that featured Cañada del Soto, a wine belonging to our designation.

With its participation in London Wine Fair 2026, DO Almansa continues to move forward in its international promotion, strengthening the presence of its wineries in foreign markets and showcasing the uniqueness of a wine-producing area marked by its altitude, climate, tradition and an identity of its own that is increasingly recognised beyond our borders.
