The Almansa Designation of Origin has announced the representative wines selected to accompany DO Almansa over the next two years in different promotional activities, national and international events, trade fairs, tastings and professional actions.
The diploma presentation took place yesterday, 11 June, during the celebration of the 3rd DO Almansa Conference, a very special edition that this year coincided with the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Designation of Origin.
The selection of these wines took place on 28 April, during the fourth edition of the Generic Wine Tasting of the Almansa Designation of Origin. This was a blind tasting in which all the wineries registered with DO Almansa took part, with a total of 43 wines tasted.
The tasting committee was made up of four professionals from different areas of the sector, including hospitality, specialised press, oenology and wine criticism.
In the young white wine category, the selected wine was Castillo de Almansa Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc 2025, from Bodegas Piqueras.

In the barrel-aged white wine category, the winning wine was Dominio de Casalta Chardonnay 2022, from Dominio de Casalta.

In the rosé wine category, the selected wine was Cueva del Chamán Syrah and Merlot 2025, from Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera.

In the young Garnacha Tintorera category, the recognition went to Cueva del Chamán Garnacha Tintorera 2025, also from Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera.

In the Monastrell wine category, the selected wine was Nostrum Monastrell 2024, from Bodegas Matamangos.

In the barrel-aged Garnacha Tintorera category, the winning wine was El Maso, from Finca Fella.

The diploma presentation recognised the work of the wineries and the quality of the wines protected by the Almansa Designation of Origin.
These wines will accompany DO Almansa over the next two years, helping to showcase the personality and potential of a designation that celebrates six decades of history, passion and origin.
