Once again, Denominación de Origen Almansa has closed with a very good reception the presentation of its wines that has taken place during the month of November in the cities of Krakow (Poland) and Hamburg (Germany), in a project that has been carried out with the help of the European programme ‘European Food and Wine a recipe for sustainability’.
The first stop on this European tour of our wines took place in Poland on 7 and 8 November, at the XXI edition of the ENOEXPO Krakow International Wine Fair, a benchmark in the sector for wine traders, producers and distributors in Europe. At this event, we were able to present our wines in a joint action with DO La Mancha and DO Jumilla within the European Food and Wine project, of which we are already part in 2023.
At the event, a seminar was conducted by the educator and expert in Spanish wines, Ewa Starzycka, in which she presented the most important aspects of our designation of origin and the representative wines of our land to professionals from the world of wine in Poland, as well as explaining the keys to sustainability of the Designations of Origin participating in the programme. Moreover, during the fair, in the wine tunnel set up in the stand, the attendees could taste the different DO Almansa wines in order to continue growing commercially in the Polish market.
Our unique Garnacha Tintorera seal, together with the characteristics of the production area, were the main attractions for the public for DO Almansa wines.
Hamburg, second stop on the European tour
The German city of Hamburg was the second stop of this edition of the European Food and Wine project for November 2024, where we presented our wines at Villaverde – Wine Seminars (Villa Verde), in Germany, another key market for our wines on the European continent.
DO Almansa participated in the Wine Tunnel with references from our wineries along with the designations of origin associated with this European project. Thomas Götz, journalist and Spanish wine blogger, completed a masterclass for the professional audience, where he presented our production area and also tasted some of the DO Almansa wines.
We close the international promotional activities for 2024
Adolfo Cano, president of DO Almansa, stressed the ‘importance of being part of this European project again to consolidate the work of promoting our wines in two very important markets for our exports, such as Germany and Poland’. With these actions in Poland and Germany, the international promotion of DO Almansa wines will come to an end in 2024.
