2019 has been a great year for the Denomination of Origin Almansa brand, reaching every corner in Spain and getting more exposure in the rest of Europe. We have taken part in many promotional events where DO Almansa wines played a pivotal role locally, nationally and internationally.
At a provincial level, we have completed some actions to expand our presence and to make our wines more acknowledgeable to regional consumers. In fact, we set up a winetasting session on the occasion of the UNDEF National Assembly held in Almansa and we also participated in the Movimiento Vino DO Day. We were present in the WineDiversity Seminar 2nd edition, held in Albacete, and in the widely known Albacete September Fair, where we could show the uniqueness and quality of our wines in the Castile-La Mancha public TV broadcaster.
Elsewhere, after having our own stand at Fenavin, we attended the Wine Professionals Congress, held in Madrid’s CaixaForum, an event to discuss the many challenges that the wine sector must face. We organized an event in the “villa y corte” as well, a DO Almansa winetasting session in The One Wine Spain.
At a national level, we took part in both CECRV General Assembly, held in Lugo and in Palma, Majorca. Another of our goals was to open up to the Mediterranean area, so DO Almansa took part in Verema Alicante, where the attendance could taste the very special quality of our wines.
The reverse action with Germany and Russia, a turning point
Without a doubt, the most important and noteworthy event for DO Almansa in 2019 –a feat that we hope to repeat next year- took place in June: a reverse promotional action for German and Russian importers was held during four days. They visited our wineries and production zones, tasted our wines, participated in showrooms… to get to know the DO Almansa wines’ core virtues.
After a busy and satisfactory year in every aspect, 2020 will come full of new challenges and tests, and we have the biggest expectations to promote and publicize our production area and our wines’ best qualities across Spain and Europe.
