Denomination of Origin Almansa returns to close, one more year, its presence at Prowein with a great welcome to importers, professionals, and customers from all over the world who have been able to get to know our wines.
Prowein, which as always took place in Dusseldorf (Germany), was held on March 19, 20 and 21. Through it, we have been able to continue promoting, in one of the most important fairs in the world, our wines and the characteristics of our production area to importers and interested parties from all over the world. During the event, we have conducted thematic tastings of our DO Almansa for the attendees, and we have had a space in the wine tunnel.
We shared a stand with other appellations of origin of Castilla-La Mancha, in a space provided by IPEX – Institute for Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha. In addition, and as has been usual in recent years, a large number of wineries of our DO Almansa were present at this fair, which has helped even more to promote the wines of DO Almansa.
Tastings commented by leading experts.
Our presence in the event had its most important point in two commented tastings that took place, with two German experts in Spanish wines who commented them among all the attendees and interested people. In both tastings, the particularity of our wines from the Garnacha Tintorera variety was what most attracted those who attended the tastings.
The first of these was conducted by David Schwarzwälder, author of the first guide to Spanish wines in Germany and the first foreigner to win the Golden Nose award as the best taster-sommelier in Spain. The sommelier Yvonne Heistermann also carried out a tasting with our wines at Prowein. She teaches courses for sommeliers in Switzerland and is a member of the jury of international wine competitions such as the Pinot Noir of Switzerland, in Germany and Brussels.
Very positive balance for DO Almansa.
Rosana Trujillo, manager of Denomination of Origin Almansa has valued the presence at Prowein as “excellent and with a great reception and interest in the wines of our production area, and especially with the virtues of the wines with our Garnacha Tintorera“. In addition, he stressed that the presence at Prowein serves as an “international springboard for our wines” in a year like this in which our Denomination of Origin Almansa “once again carries out important promotional activities outside our borders”.
