Denominación de Origen Almansa was once again present at Prowein, Düsseldorf (Germany), where it was once again able to present its wines to importers, professionals and the attending public, representing more than forty countries.
Prowein, which this year celebrated the 30th edition of this fair which is a world reference in the sector, took place on 10, 11 and 12 March. DO Almansa shared a stand with other designations of origin from Castilla-La Mancha, in a space set up by IPEX – the Castilla-La Mancha Institute for Foreign Promotion.
Our Almansa Designation of Origin was able to present the unique value of our wines, the production area and the particularities of our most representative grape varieties to importers and professionals from the sector. In addition, and as usual in previous editions of Prowein, we have carried out thematic tastings of our DO Almansa for the attendees and we have had a space in the wine tunnel.
Many of the wineries that make up our Almansa Designation of Origin were also present at the fair, which has given an even greater boost to the promotional work carried out to promote the wines from our production area. In general terms, Prowein was once again a great success, attracting more than 50,000 visitors, 5,000 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and almost 1,000 journalists.
Wine tasting in front of German journalists and the media
One of the highlights at Prowein for DO Almansa was the wine tasting commented by the German expert David Schwarzwälder, author of the first guide to Spanish wines in Germany and who in previous years had already been responsible for conducting seminars on the different DOs in the region. As always, the particularity of our wines made with Garnacha Tintorera was what most surprised and pleased the public who attended the tasting.
Another step forward in the international promotion of our wines
Rosana Trujillo, manager of Denominación de Origen Almansa, has assessed as ‘very positive that once again we have been able to be present at Prowein, where our wines have always had an excellent response and reception from the international public’. It is important that we continue with this work of promotion and dissemination, which is ‘fundamental for our DO Almansa and its wines to continue to grow beyond our borders’.
