On March 1 and 2, the Denomination of Origin Almansa took part in Eurovino 2026, a professional wine fair held in Karlsruhe, in southwestern Germany. This year’s edition brought together around 500 exhibitors, mainly from Europe, and approximately 5,000 professional visitors from the wine sector.
Although the fair is relatively young—celebrating its third edition this year—it has already established itself as an interesting meeting point for distributors, importers and wine professionals, particularly from southern Germany.

For DO Almansa, this event represented a valuable opportunity to continue opening new markets and strengthening the presence of our wines in Germany, which is currently one of the main importers of Spanish wine within Europe.
We participated within the European programme “European Food and Wine”, once again alongside DO La Mancha and DOP Jumilla.
Within the Wine Experience area, a free-tasting space, visitors were able to discover 11 of our wine references, one from each winery, offering a complete representation of the wines produced within the DO Almansa.

This format allows visitors to taste the wines at their own pace, consult the information displayed on the explanatory panels and gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics of each wine and of our production area.
In addition to the tasting area, specialized seminars were held during the two days of the fair in the Vinum space, organized by Vinum, a prestigious wine magazine in Germany. The sessions were led by sommelier Claudia Stern, who is already very familiar with our production area.
During these seminars, two wines made from Garnacha Tintorera were tasted—one young wine and one crianza—with the aim of showcasing the versatility of our most representative grape variety and demonstrating how wines with strong personality and excellent quality can be produced from it. Attendees showed great interest in the wines of DO Almansa, particularly appreciating the distinctive character of smaller appellations with history and a strong identity.

Participation in Eurovino also marked the final action within the European programme “European Food and Wine”, an initiative that over the past three years has promoted the wines of DO Almansa in several European markets, with a special focus on Germany, France and Poland.
DO Almansa highly values the development of this programme, which has helped strengthen the international visibility of our appellation and raise awareness of the work carried out by the wineries in our production area.
This action brings a promotional phase to a close. However, the denomination is already working on new programmes and initiatives aimed at continuing to promote the internationalization of our wines across different European markets.
